Hear Their Prayer
A poem about the Apparition that took place in the quiet village of Knock, County Mayo, in 1879. Since then countless pilgrims, including Popes and Presidents, have been drawn to this location.
At Knock Shrine we hear their prayer, Echoing through the Irish air. A sacred place, a hallowed ground, Where pilgrims gather from all around. In 1879, a wondrous sight: The Blessed Virgin bathed in light, With Joseph standing at her side, And John the Evangelist, dignified. The Lamb of God, so calm and still, Appeared upon the gable sill, Surrounded by angelic grace, A silent vision, a holy place. A symbol of hope, a light in the dark, At Knock Shrine, a divine spark. There peace and comfort intertwine, Within that sacred, healing shrine. So come and kneel, and softly pray, Let all your troubles drift away. Your soul renewed, your heart at rest, In Mary’s presence, you are blessed.
